How much weight can you actually hang on a plasterboard wall?

It's the biggest myth about drywall. Using the right hollow-wall anchors (like umbrella fixings), a standard board holds up to 30kg per fixing. Plus, if you tell us beforehand where your large TV, boiler, or kitchen units are going, we build timber or steel supports inside the wall cavity before we close it up. It will hold anything.

How much ceiling height do I lose with a dropped ceiling?

If your original ceiling is level, the minimum drop is about 5 to 6 centimeters. This is great for hiding flat cables or ugly original ceilings. If you want recessed LED downlights, it depends on the depth of the light fittings—we usually recommend dropping it between 10 and 12 cm.

Does plasterboard stop me hearing the neighbors?

Plasterboard on its own helps a little, but the real secret is the air gap. When we build the metal studwork, we fill the void with high-density rock wool or specific acoustic panels. This gives you professional soundproofing and keeps the room at a better temperature too.

Do you cut the holes for the LED spotlights?

Yes, we hand over the ceiling completely ready. If you give us the layout and measurements, we'll mark and cut the circular holes to the exact size of your light fittings, so your electrician just has to plug them in.
